For the ones who are up before light in November and at the lake in June. Buck & Field gathers our outdoor designs: a whitetail buck in the timber, mallards dropping into the marsh, a ladder stand at the edge of a frosty field, a largemouth bass coming up for a lure. They are drawn for hunters and anglers by people who like the outdoors, with no hunting or fishing brand marks, camo patterns from a company or slogans borrowed from a label.
The custom first-buck ornament is the keepsake of this collection: type the hunter’s name, the season year and a short line such as the county or the number of points, and the preview shows how it sits on the ornament. It makes a quiet gift for a young hunter’s first season or a memorial for a hunting partner.
Choosing the finish
Every design comes in a light or dark printed wood-grain look; a few also come in round, star or heart shapes. If the ornament will hang on a cabin tree with lots of rustic decorations, the dark tone gives contrast; on a green tree, the light tone stands out.
