Order Tracking

Wondering where your ornaments are? Enter your order number and the email address you used at checkout in the form below to see the current status of your Cedar Gift order. Underneath the form you will find what each status means, how long each stage normally takes and what to do if something seems stuck.
The short version
- What you need: your order number (from the confirmation email) and the email address on the order.
- Preparation: 1-3 business days after your order is placed.
- Transit: 7-14 business days to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, shipped free from the USA.
- Need more detail? Email [email protected] with your order number; we reply within 24 hours on business days.
1. Finding your order number
Your order number is in the subject line and at the top of the order confirmation email we send as soon as you check out. It is a number only, without a hash sign or letters. If you cannot find the email, search your inbox, spam and promotions folders for “Cedar Gift” or for “cedargift.shop”. People ordering on a phone sometimes use a different email address than the one they read every day; try the other one too.
If you created an account at checkout, you can also see every order you have placed, with its number and status, by signing in at My Account.
Still cannot find it? Email [email protected] with your full name, the shipping address and roughly when you ordered. We will find the order and send you the number.
2. Using the form
- Type the order number exactly as it appears in your confirmation email.
- Type the billing email address used for the order. If you bought a gift that was shipped to someone else, use your own email, not the recipient’s.
- Press the button. The page shows your order’s status, the items and options you ordered, any personalisation text and the shipping address.
If the form says it cannot find your order, check for a space before or after the email address, and make sure you are using the billing email rather than a shipping contact. Then try again or write to us.
3. What each status means
| Status | What it means | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending payment | The order was started but payment has not been confirmed. | If you meant to pay, finish checkout again or email us. Pending orders are not prepared. |
| On hold | We are waiting for something before preparation can start, often a payment confirmation or an answer to a question we emailed you. | Check your inbox for an email from us and reply to it. |
| Processing | Payment is confirmed and your order is being prepared. Personalised items are printed with the text you typed. | Nothing; this stage takes 1-3 business days. Changes are only possible within 24 hours of ordering. |
| Completed | Your order has been prepared and handed over for delivery. | Allow 7-14 business days for it to reach you. Email us if you would like the latest information we have. |
| Cancelled | The order was cancelled at your request or by us, and you have been emailed about it. | Watch for the refund, which is sent within 7 days of the cancellation being confirmed. |
| Refunded | All or part of the order has been refunded. | Allow your bank or payment provider a few business days to show it. |
| Failed | The payment did not go through. | Try again with another payment option shown at checkout, or email us. |
4. A normal timeline
Here is what a typical order looks like from start to finish. Say you order the custom hometown water tower ornament with HOLLIS 2026 and a farm tractor tee on a Monday morning.
- Monday: you receive the order confirmation email. Status: Processing. You have until Monday morning the next day to change the town name or the tee size.
- Monday to Thursday: the ornament and the tee are printed for your order. Preparation takes 1-3 business days.
- By Thursday: status changes to Completed when the order is handed over for delivery.
- The next 7-14 business days: the parcel or parcels travel to you. Ornaments and apparel can travel separately and arrive on different days.
Weekends and public holidays are not business days, so an order placed on a Friday evening starts its preparation on Monday. In the weeks before Christmas, carriers are busier and parcels tend to arrive toward the end of the transit range.
5. Orders with several items
When an order includes different kinds of products — for example a coaster set, a sweatshirt and two ornaments — the items may be prepared in different places and can arrive in separate parcels on different days. The order status reflects the whole order. If some items have arrived and others have not, give it until the end of the delivery window, then email us with the order number and the names of the missing items.
6. Gifts shipped to someone else
If you sent a gift directly to the person you bought it for — a pair of barn ornaments to your parents in Saskatoon, a buck hoodie to a cousin in Timaru — the status updates come to you, the buyer, by email. The recipient will not receive emails from us, which keeps the surprise intact. If you want to know whether a gift has arrived without asking the recipient, email us and we will tell you what we know.
7. If your order seems late
Count from the date in your order confirmation: 1-3 business days for preparation, then 7-14 business days in transit. If that full window has passed and the parcel has not arrived, please do the following:
- Check the address on the order (the form above shows it). A missing unit number or rural route number is the most common cause of a lost parcel.
- Look around the property — the porch, the shop, the barn, the side door, the mailbox at the end of the drive — and ask neighbours and your local post office or depot.
- Email [email protected] with your order number, the shipping address and a short description of what you have checked.
We will look into it and keep you informed. If the parcel cannot be found, we send a replacement or a refund, your choice. Our Shipping & Delivery page and our Refund Policy explain how this works.
8. If your parcel arrives damaged
Take a couple of clear photos of the item, the packaging and the shipping label, and email them to us with your order number. We send a replacement or a refund; in most cases you do not need to return the damaged item. Details are on our Returns & Exchanges Policy page. Photos you send are deleted 30 days after delivery of your order, or once the issue is settled if that is later.
9. Changing something after you ordered
Orders can be changed or cancelled within 24 hours of being placed: the finish, shape, size, colour, personalisation text or shipping address. Once that window has passed and the status shows Processing or Completed, changes may no longer be possible; write to us anyway and we will tell you what can still be done. Everything you need to know is on Cancel or Change an Order.
10. Orders to Canada, Australia and New Zealand
International orders show the same statuses and follow the same preparation time and the same 7-14 business day transit estimate. Parcels crossing a border can pause briefly while customs processes them; that is normal. Whether any import duty, tax or handling fee applies depends on the destination country’s rules and the parcel’s value, and is decided by that country’s customs authority, not by us.
11. Planning for a date
Most questions we get about order status come in December, from people who need a gift in hand by a certain day. Here is a simple way to plan before you order, and to read the status afterwards.
| Step | Business days | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Change window | Within 24 hours of ordering | Personalisation text, finish, shape, size and address are right |
| Preparation | 1-3 | Status shows Processing, then Completed |
| Transit | 7-14 | Status shows Completed; parcel on its way |
| Safe planning window | Up to 17 in total | Count only Monday to Friday, skip public holidays |
For example, an order for the custom first buck keepsake ornament placed on Monday, November 30, would normally be prepared by Thursday, December 3, and the safe planning window runs to about Wednesday, December 23, once weekends are skipped. Personalised items take exactly as long as plain ones, because everything in the store is printed for your order. If your date is close, email us before you order and ask; we will give you a straight answer rather than a hopeful one.
12. When an order shows Completed but nothing has arrived
Completed means your order has left our preparation stage, not that it has reached your door. Parcels can take up to 14 business days from that point to arrive. During that time the parcel may pass through several carrier facilities, sometimes in different states or provinces, and international parcels also pass through customs. If you would like to know more about where a Completed order stands, email us with your order number and we will share what we have, including any carrier reference available for your parcel.
13. Questions we hear often
“Can I pick up my order?” No; Cedar Gift is an online store and every order is delivered. “Can I pay extra for faster delivery?” Not at the moment; free shipping is the only method we offer, so everyone gets the same 7-14 business day estimate. “Will the parcel say Cedar Gift on it?” Parcels and packing slips can show our store name; if you are worried about spoiling a surprise for someone who shares your mailbox, consider shipping to a work address or a relative’s house.
14. Keeping your order details private
The tracking form only shows an order when both the order number and the matching billing email are entered, so a stranger who sees a parcel on your porch cannot look up your order. Please do not post your order number publicly, and never send card numbers or passwords in an email; we never need them to look up an order.
